Install MySQL: see where it’s installed (e.g. urs/local/mysql)
2. add system variable (e.g. PATH=/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/mysql/bin)
How to add system variable?
– permanent changes: edit file .bash_profile
a. touch ~/.bash_profile; open ~/.bash_profile
b. add export PATH=${PATH}:/usr/local/mysql/bin at the end of the file
– current settings: export PATH=${PATH}:/usr/local/mysql/bin
3. start MySQL
mysql -u root -p (enter root password)

SHOW DATABASES;
CREATE DATABASE databaseName;
USE events;

DROP databaseName;
